Regardless of format, your tapes will be digitized in HD (1920 x 1080) and saved as MP4 files using H.264 compression. Your movie files will be delivered on a USB 3.0 Thumb Drive That can be plugged into most TVs or copied onto your computer. Each thumb drive (provided at no extra cost) can hold several tapes.  Your movie files arrive ready to be watched, shared, or edited!

Over the years, some tapes may develop mold.  It appears as white circles on the edge of the tape spool and is clearly visible through the cassette window.  When this happens, we open the cassette, run the entire tape through a cleaning process, and can usually proceed with the transfer.  This is a rare occurrence, and we check your tapes during the hand-off meeting. 

In the event that your video cassette has a been damaged or has a mechanical problem, we will replace the cassette with a new shell. 

Most videotapes hold 2 hours of footage.  If your tapes were recorded in 4 or 6 hour mode, we will need extra time and thumb drives to transfer all of it. 

A 50' reel is 3" in diameter and plays for 3 minutes.  You may have multiple films edited together onto a 200' or 400' reel.  Our price is per 50' of film. As with video transfers, your movies are delivered on one or more thumb drives at not extra cost.  They are also saved as .mp4 files with H.264 compression. 

A set of slides or negatives consists of 36 slides. Each slide is cleaned, adjusted for best colors, and scanned at an exceptional resolution. Instead of a movie file, you should expect individual images saved as .PNG files on one or more thumb drives.  This is a common professional format that opens easily in Photoshop, is excellent for printing, and can be uploaded to social media platforms.
