There are several reasons: 

•  Legacybox advertises low prices, but most customers end up paying $25-35 per tape by the time they check out. We charge $20 per tape (after discounts) and we pick up and deliver to your door 
• We're local in Orlando, we walk you through the process, do the work ourselves, and will be there if you need help in the future. 
• They do not upconvert your movies to HD. We do. 
• They do not stabilize jumpy video playback with hardware or software.  We do.
• They do not color adjust each tape. We do. 
• If they find a damaged cassette, or mold on the tape, they apply a red "rejection sticker", send it back without transferring it, and still charge you for it.  
• We will work hard to save each tape and the memories on them.
• We only charge for successfully transferred tapes. Blank tapes or old TV show recordings your didn't need transferred are returned, no charge.  

We are located near Universal Studios Orlando and we would not hesitate to drive a half-hour to meet you for pick up and the final delivery. Windermere, BayHill, Gotha, Winter Garden, O-Town West, Hunter's Creek are all in our service area. 

Absolutely!  It's the same process except it will require shipping expenses. Unless otherwise requested, we use UPS for return shipments.

At the pick up, we will give you an estimate based on the amount of material you provide and our current workload.  If you your project needs to be finished for a specific holiday or event, let us know and we will do what we can to accommodate it.  Thanksgiving through Christmas is a very busy time, so get your order in early!  

Yes! It is all returned to you, along with the Thumb Drives containing your movies or images.

Yes! There are may ways to go about it. The easiest is copy the files we create for you to a free Google Drive account and install the Google Photos app to your phone or tablet.  Then just click on the video you want to watch and enjoy!  We will be happy to set it up for you at no charge. 

We start with really good VCRs.  Each VCR has a built-in time base corrector that stabilizes the picture and reduces image tearing at the top of the frame.  Each VCR is also able to play SVHS.  Even if your tapes are not recorded in SVHS, it separates luminance and chrominance and sends them to an upconverter using an SVIDEO Cable. The upconverter not only makes your images 4 times larger, it greatly reduces the interlacing (herring bone) of standard video and creates 60 progressive HD frames per second.  The signal is then captured by a high-end PC capture card via an HDMI cable.  We use OBS studio to record and maintain the proper aspect ratio.  We also crop out edge noise or visible time code.
